Three Fun Things You Can Do When You Know How To Speak Another Language
Sometimes, don't you just wish that you somehow knew how to speak another language aside from English? It seems that for some situations, speaking in English just does not seem to cut it. There are many situations wherein knowing how to speak some foreign language would just be awesome.
Being able to speak a second language is always a plus no matter where you go, and it is even a plus even when you are not using it for work. There are so many things that you can do with being able to speak a second language; you can even have some fun with it. Here are some fun things that you can do if you know how to speak a foreign language.
1. You can pretend to be a foreigner in a place where nobody knows you.
If you are quite fluent in speaking some foreign language, you could make things interesting by pretending to be some foreigner. This will allow you to have more courage if you want to come up to a girl and you are too shy to do something to break the ice. At the same time, you can impress her with your savoir-faire. Sometimes, there seems to be a bit more charm working in your favor if you try to speak in another language aside from English. Once you have gotten comfortable with the girl you came up to, just slowly introduce yourself and try to speak some English so you could carry on your conversation a bit longer.
2. If you happen to watch a foreign movie in the language that you know, you would not need to have subtitles on anymore.
If you happen to love Japanese movies or anime, then you must find it to be quite annoying how you have to read the subtitles the entire time that you are watching. One would normally think that they might as well just opt for an English dubbed version of their favorite anime shows. Well there is nothing wrong with that; the only thing that you have to deal with is that it is not exactly quite the same with that of the originally dubbed version.
If you happen to know and understand Japanese, then you are in for quite a treat. You can stop having to rely on subtitles and English dubbed versions. This is going to make watching anime much, much more enjoyable if you now understand their language.
3. You can use your skills as an interpreter.
Being an interpreter can be a lot of fun when you are quite good at a specific language. You can help friends, your family, or even your boss to understand better what a foreigner is trying to say. It's unavoidable that when speaking to a foreigner, they may not be able to speak or understand English so well. If you happen to understand the language they speak, why not use your skill to try and help get over that language barrier eh?
