Three Reasons Why Learning A Second Language Can Be An Advantage For You
As obvious as it is for you or everyone else for that matter, nearly all of the world's countries have their own respective languages save for a small number of countries that have chosen English to be their language of choice. This leaves a hundred or more countries or so that have their own respective languages.
Now, if you have not realized it yet, being able to understand another language or dialect is actually quite important. This would allow you to break that language barrier, allowing better communication leading for other things like business and deals or anything else to flow much easier. So how about learning a second language? There are several advantages to this; perhaps you have your own but anyway here are a few of these that you might find to be helpful.
1. It could help you with your job or your business.
Sometimes learning a second language would prove to be a really huge benefit on your part if you choose to learn a specific language. Sometimes, people trust those whom they deal business with better if they knew how to speak their native tongue. Such is the case for some Chinese and Japanese people who tend to be more trustful to those that they can speak with in their native tongue.
So how about it? Learning a second language is not really as hard as it seems. All you need is a little practice and someone to converse with so you can learn it faster. It does not really matter what language you intend to learn; its just that the fact of being able to understand another language other than English would give you an advantage over others who can only manage to speak one language.
2. This will allow you to speak about more sensitive things with ease when you are in public.
Talking about something that you would want a few people to know about would mean that you would have to be very hush-hush about things. Not to the extent of going cloak and dagger, but maybe more discreet about what you say and where you talk about it.
If you happen to know another language aside from English, this would give you the ability to talk to someone else about this with more ease. Assuming of course that the person you are talking to knows the language you are using as well, this would do away with eavesdroppers and those who just can't seem to mind their own business.
3. You can use this second language of yours to impress that girl you like.
So let's say you know how to speak French, and you are darn good at it. Don't you think the girl that you like would be nothing short of impressed with that? Somehow, speaking in a foreign language makes things more romantic. Maybe some things get lost in translation, but there is that dramatic effect that people seem to be suckers for when it comes to foreign languages.
