Living in the early stages of their lives, students have the tendency to misuse the opportunity for acquiring tons of knowledge. Temptations and peer pressure could often dissipate and diversify the learning openings for the students.

Several students don't recognize how knowledge and skills that are taught in the school can be useful on the later stages of their respective lives and careers. Knowledge is power and it is very vital for an individual's career. It is normal for young individuals to be misguided by several factors such as media and friends. However, there are possible ways that a student can be placed on the right track again. If you are a struggling student, here are some ways to become a better student.

• Daydreaming. It might sound funny but it is true; however, we are not referring to daydreaming in classrooms or during discussions. Daydreaming and thinking about your future career could encourage you more to become a better student. Think and plan on what you want to do with your life so that you can focus more on your studies and certain subjects that are related to your ideal career. Also daydreaming can help you look at life's deeper insights plus it makes your mind more creative.

• Learn to invent and discover new things. Discovering new things could help you and guide you on how to learn new things. Several professors have said that you have to “Learn how to learn” so that you would become a good and intellectual individual. Relying on pre-defined will get you nowhere. Always find ways to come up with your own solution so that you can have the ability of learning on your own.

• Find different angles on a certain problem. Find different solutions and angles in solving a problem; think out of the box. If you are solving a problem, it is much better to look at it on different angles so that you can solve it in different ways. Math subjects like Algebra could exercise your mind and could develop your way of finding angles on a certain problem and equation.

• Learn through experiences. Whether it is a failed or a good experience, always find ways to learn from them. Learn from your mistakes and also from your accomplishments. Don't be discouraged immediately when you have failed; recover from it and think of a better way to avoid making the same mistakes again.

• Compare and listen to several opinions from other individuals. Always be open to listening to other points of view and opinions; listen to those opinions and combine them with your opinions to make the best opinion out of it. A certain issue can be solved with different opinions. Always remember that great minds are constantly open to different outlooks.

• Write stuffs and materials. Ideas will often come out of your mind and can also be lost immediately. It is much better to write your ideas and words immediately when you have come up with them; you might be able to forget them and you will find it difficult to remember them again.
